High School Completion
The High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) is a series of five exams in the core content areas. Each of the five subtests in the HiSET exam is scored on a scale of 1–20. In order to pass you must do all three of the following:
- achieve a score of at least 8 on each of the five individual subtests
- score at least 2 out of 6 on the essay portion of the writing test
- have a total combined score on all five subtests of at least 45
This varies with each individual. We develop a learning plan with each student to help them prepare for the HiSet.
The HiSet is free for Maine residents. You must provide proof of Maine residency. For non-residents, the fee is $45 per subtest.
Please contact our office at 207-767-3266 ext. 3834, or email firstname.lastname@example.org. We will schedule an appointment with you to discuss your learning goals and to create a learning plan. You can enroll at any time.

Registering for Courses
If you are on a waiting list, you will be contacted if a space becomes available. Please do not go to the class unless you have been called. The teacher will have to send you to our office in order to check your wait list status if you just show up for class. All waiting lists are handled on a “first come – first serve” basis and each class is filled in the order people were placed on the waiting list.
If you have mailed in your registration for a class which was already full, you will be contacted and given the option to be placed on the waiting list for that class.
If you register in person, you’ll know immediately the status of the class.
If you search for courses online, you will know because the web page will say “Course full” and give you the option of subscribing to the waiting list.
You can register for most of our courses on-line with Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.
Register by mail
If you register by mail, you may pay by personal check, money order, or by providing your credit card info on the necessary registration form.
